Frequently asked questions

Questions answered.

How does beehive adoption work?

You adopt part or all of a beekeeper's hive in Latgale, Latvia. Your name is registered on the hive, you get access to the season journal and photos, and in autumn — your share of the honey with your name on the label. Beekeeper Aleksandrs tends the colony; you receive the harvest and a living connection to a specific place and person.

What is the difference between adoption and just buying honey?

In a shop you buy an anonymous product. When you adopt a hive, you know exactly — which beekeeper, which apiary, which hive your honey came from. Your name is on the jar. You follow the season in real time through the beekeeper's journal. Adoption is not a product — it is a relationship with a specific place and person.

How and when is the honey delivered?

Honey is harvested in autumn (typically September–October) and delivered to your address in Latvia. Delivery is included in the price. Each jar carries your name label and hive information. Latvian diaspora in the EU — get in touch and we will work out delivery options.

What does "name on the jar" mean?

During registration you provide a name or family name. It is printed on the honey jar label and (in higher tiers) on the hive itself. You choose what to write — your own name, a family name, or the name of a gift recipient.

Can adoption be given as a gift?

Yes — adoption is an unusual and meaningful gift. During checkout you provide the recipient's name, which is printed on the jar. We will prepare an adoption certificate with the recipient's name and send them access to their hive's season journal.

What happens if the harvest is smaller than expected?

Nature has its own rules. If the season produces less than promised, we contact each adopter individually and offer a solution — partial compensation, carry-over to the next season, or a refund. We do not hide bad seasons — that transparency is part of the connection with the beekeeper's work.

What does a company get with corporate adoption?

A company receives a personalised hive bearing the brand name, honey jars with the company logo, an ESG report with photos and data, and camera access for the whole team. Corporate tiers also include an apiary visit as a team event. Pricing is set individually based on tier and requirements.

How does corporate adoption work?

Corporate adoption begins with a conversation — we learn about the company's needs and propose the right tier. Onboarding is manual, because every corporate client receives individual attention. Apply now to reserve a place for the 2026 season.
